Adventurous couple...

I first met this bride-to-be when I photographed their son's senior pictures last fall but this was the first time I got to know her groom.  What a hoot getting to know them as a couple! And working with them was a dream.  This pair was up for pretty much anything I could come up with for their engagement session.  It took them no time to get comfortable in front of the camera and we got to a point where they understood my posing terms and even anticipated what I was going to ask of them.  Their story is a very interesting one, years in the making- I'm so honored to be a part of their "happily-ever-after!

It is such a personal relationship between a couple and their photographer!  I'm so glad we've had this opportunity to get acquainted- I'm very much looking forward to your wedding next year!

Oh Baby!

I've had the pleasure of photographing this little guy's family for quite some time now.  His big brother always gives me the BEST expressions and I always laugh a lot when I'm with them.  So I was so excited for them when they welcomed home a new little boy and even more so when they asked me to come make pictures of him too.

Congratulations again!

Hooray for Spring!

It seems like we've been stuck inside forever!  I was so happy last week to be able to get outside for a couple of sessions.  This little family was just the jump start I needed for playing outside.  We had lots of fun and found a couple new spots.

Now, if it would just stop raining on Saturdays, I could go play outside some more.  Happy spring- finally!

JP Studio...

By now you've probably heard about the new space I'll be moving into very soon.  I can't tell you how excited I am for this change!  It is going to be so nice to have all my props and backdrops easy to get to and ready to use, everything set up and ready to go when I am.  I got to pick up the keys today so I thought I'd make a few images to share with you.  A nice surprise was that the new flooring has been delivered & will start to be installed before the end of the week.

Ok, so my sign isn't actually up yet, but that is what it is going to look like.  This is where my space is, another sign will go here:

This is the hall way and my door (again this is a mock-up of a sign that isn't there yet):

While we were there we saw a pair of ducks on the lawn.  This is Sarah trying to direct them away from the traffic on 1st Ave:

I just want to thank all of you again for supporting me!  I couldn't be making this move with out all of you and the referrals you send my way.  I know this is just one more step to making sure I'll be able to continue to serve your families for a very long time.  I have the BEST clients ever!

I hate to play favorites....

I truly have an appreciation for each of my clients, but this family has a very special place in my heart.  When I started out a few years ago, they were my first real clients (meaning they weren't people that I knew already and begged to let me use their kid as a practice subject).  We've gotten real close since then and even more so when she became a fellow mom of twins.  I love this family, I love these kids.  Thank you, my friend, for being such a blessing to me, I don't know where I'd be if you hadn't been the first.

From this day forward...

Weddings are a big deal.  So much planning and so many details all come together for one very special day.  I love weddings!  Everything about them- the dress, the cake, the flowers, the vows, down to the tiny little favors at the tables.  But what I love most is seeing the start of something wonderful- a marriage.  Something like this:

We were supposed to do formals outside in a nearby park but the clouds rolled in & the wind kicked up so we opted to stay inside- with a venue like the ARA gallery, it was hard to be disappointed in that.  What a cool place!

I feel so honored to have shared your day with you, thank you for letting me be one of the details!  Congratulations!
