My Sister is Getting Married! (part 1)

I am so happy for the two of them!  They both found "The One".  They are such a great compliment to one another, I couldn't imagine a better fit for my baby sister.  I will be very glad to call him "brother" and welcome into the family with open arms.

And welcoming him means welcoming a niece and nephew as well, which only sweetens the pot for me since I adore my roll as "Aunt Angie".

I'm very excited for my sister's son to have a new brother and sister too.  I think they make a beautiful family and I know they are going to have so much fun together.

Congratulations to all of you!  I know that God has blessed you and those blessings will only be multiplied in the years ahead!

One more from the weekend...

One of the great things about my job is that I get to also create memories for my family.  My cousin brought her little guys into the studio last weekend for some updated images.  I don't see them very often so it was nice to get to know the little men a bit...

It was a beautiful day to be inside...

Can you believe this heat?!?!  It sure has made it difficult to be outside for portraits.  But it hasn't slowed me down one little bit, in fact I have been LOVING working in the studio this summer.  This family came to see me over the weekend.

It had been awhile since I saw them last and now they have a new addition.  What a sweet little bundle!

Everyone adores her!

Especially Big Sis...

Who is a little sweetie, herself...

I have the best job!  I get to meet great families like this, watch them grow and capture their lives for them to cherish forever.  We all know just how fast these precious little moments go fleeting by.  Being able to look back at them is such a treasure.

I hope to see you all again very soon!  Congratulations on your new little girl, she seems the perfect addition to your beautiful family.

Look who just turned one...

You may remember her as one of our best of 2011 winners in this image:

She came back in on her birthday last week with her parents to mark the occasion.

I love watching little ones grow and their personalities form.  It is such a fun and exciting time in life.  And she sure is brimming with personality already.  The world is a wonder and she is determined to explore it!  We had a hard time containing her in the big open meadow with all those fun things to check out a space to run.  Thank you for making a visit with me part of your birthday celebration!  I'm sure this was the first of MANY happy birthdays for you.

Outdoorsman and a businessman...

There are so many things I love about photographing seniors.  One of those, is getting see the many sides of their personalities.  This Prairie senior has a great love of the outdoors and a passion for business.  He was a trooper in the heat last week!  Even though we started early in the day, it was warming up fast.

He also brought a couple of people along with him- Moms usually come to the senior sessions and I love that because they know them better than anyone else and can tell when their smiles are real and if their hair is the way they usually wear it.  So Mom was with us this day and so was his younger sister.  They were hoping to get some portraits together and I was more than happy to do that!  Despite their protests to the contrary, I suspect they kind of like each other.

She also had a way of getting him to laugh, and you all know how I feel about laughter in portraits- LOVE IT!

Thanks so much for a really fun morning!  I'm going to have to ask that lovely sister to come do some modeling for me sometime soon.

Summer Senior

It has been a fun summer all around but what has made this one even more exciting for me is having seniors come in for summer sessions.  The morning we were out doing these I think it was in the mid 80s before 9am so we were quick to move inside to the air conditioning.  These are a few of the images we got outside before we turned into melted puddles...

Not so sleepy little beauty...

This sweet little one came to see me at one month old- not quite as young as most of my new born subjects.  She was pretty wide eyed for portraits with the family.  When it came time to send her off to dream land for some sleepy snuggly images, she was having none of it!  Her tummy was too upset for us to sooth her to sleep.  So we decided it would probably be best to try again when she felt better.  SO we met again and she was in much better spirits but wide eyed again.  It took a bit of work to get her to sleep but it was worth every minute of cuddling, rocking bottom patting that I had to invest (besides, that is one of the best parts of photographing itty bitties!).

Isn't she just precious?!
