Dubuque Wedding

It seems like I've been talking with this bride about her wedding forever, I can't believe it is over and I'm sitting here retouching images!  We went over every detail to be sure that all of it would be captured in their album- and each and every one was absolutely PERFECT!

The ceremony and reception were held at the Grand River Center in Dubuque IA.  The river front was captivating and the perfect setting for their portraits.  We did get some rain, which altered our plans slightly but it certainly didn't detract from the beauty of the day, which was almost as stunning as the bride...

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time.  This couple wanted to focus on the portraits before the ceremony so they had their first glimpse outside the reception hall before their guests started to arrive.

I am just so completely in love with all the images that it took me all day to decide which ones to share!  I can't wait to reveal the rest of the images to the couple in a few weeks.

Look who just turned one...

Last year around this time I had a rash of new babies, now they have all come back in for their one year portraits.  It has been so fun to see them grow and their little personalities develop over the last year.  This little guy sure isn't short on the personality!  Just look at that grin.

Spending an evening at the park...

I met my friend at the park she and her kids play at to do some portraits of her family over the weekend.  Her parents were in town so we got to include them.  I have been excited to do some evening families and was so glad that the weather was nice.  I'm looking forward to doing more of these!  We had such fun...

A little announcement....

Not of my own but I sure did have fun planning an announcement for this great, growing family!  Congratulations again, M family, on your expected arrival!  I can't wait to meet your new little one.

Little Mr H turns 3!

I first met this guy when he was itty bitty and it has been fun to see him grow.  We decided that we may have better luck capturing his true personality if we tried an outdoor location this time.  He is such a busy, curious little guy and he loves all things farm.  This location certainly had lots to attract his interest!

Siblings...

I have made portraits of these kiddos several times but this was the first time in the studio.  And it was the first time no one played shy!  Big smiles all around, we had a great time!  Oh what a difference a year makes...

And I KNOW Mom is going to melt a little when she sees these of her trio together:

I just love it that I get to build relationships with my clients and their families!  Each time we get together to create new portraits, we have an even better time than the last!  Looking forward to next time with the M Family!
